PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition comprising a protein which is a protein specifically expressible in testis, associating with a sugar chain-related enzyme and regulating the activity of the sugar chain-related enzyme or a gene thereof, and to further provide a method for diagnosis, treatment or prophylaxis of infertility caused by an abnormality in spermatogenesis or difficult fertilization using genetic engineering production of the protein or a mutant thereof, identification of the sugar chain-related enzyme associating with the protein or the composition comprising the protein or the gene encoding the protein. SOLUTION: The composition comprises the protein which has an amino acid sequence represented by sequence number 2 or the amino acid sequence in which one or a plurality of amino acids are substituted or deleted in the amino acid sequence or the one or the plurality of amino acids are inserted or added to the amino acid sequence and is specifically expressible in the testis and associates with the sugar chain-related enzyme.
