NETWORK SECURITY ELEMENTS USING ENDPOINT RESOURCES

Network security elements using endpoint resources are provided to offer more granularity to traffic transmitted to a darknet by a use of the endpoint resources, thereby permitting a network manager to view more operations. A method for packet monitoring comprises the following steps of: monitoring a packet to the inside(405); passing an inbound packet from an unauthorized user(410); determining whether a system is in a honey pot mode(415); and calculating the statistics of the packet and analyzing unauthorized network traffic when the system is in the honeypot mode(420).
