In a method for drying a fibrous material web, in particular a web of pap er, cardboard, or tissue, the running fibrous material web is acted upon wit h hot air from a hot air hood in the region of a preceding specifiable dryin g zone and, after the drying zone, is supplied to a downstream drying cylind er, in particular, to a Yankee cylinder, to which an additional hood is assi gned and in the region of which the fibrous material web is dried further. I n the process, the hot air for the hot air hood assigned to the preceding dr ying zone is taken at least partly from the hood assigned to the downstream drying cylinder.
