The invention relates to a method for coating one face of metal strips with a molten metal. According to said method, a double-layer structure consisting of two superposed metal strips is produced, the edge sections of the double-layer structure are joined together, said sections being subjected to little or no thermal stress, thus retaining the properties of the metal strips, a metal layer is applied to the double-layer structure in a coating bath and the double-layer structure is then separated to form two metal strips that are coated on one face. The invention also relates to a production line for coating one face of metal strips.
