The drive unit (PA) has an input clutch (51) set between a crank shaft and a drive roller shaft (40) and provided at the roller shaft. A starter clutch (38) that is set between a shaft (41) of a driven roller and a rear wheel of a vehicle is provided at the shaft of the roller, where the switching of a clutch between a coupled condition and an uncoupled condition from the input clutch and the starter clutch is hydraulically controlled. The switching of another clutch between the coupled and uncoupled conditions from the input clutch and the starter clutch is mechanically controlled.
