SOL-GEL SEALANTS FOR LIQUID-BASED OPTICAL DEVICES

The present invention relates to the use of an organo-silicated hybrid sealant material obtained by sol-gel technology for sealing the window of a liquid-based optical device onto a metallic surface of the packaging of said device, and the process for sealing said window on said metallic surface using said organo-silicated hybrid sealant material. The invention also pertains to a liquid-based optical, for example a liquid-based optical device driven by electrowetting, comprising an organo-silicated hybrid sealant material sealing the window onto a metallic surface of the packaging of said device.
