<p>A digital image is compressed by determining a composite color number for each pixel in a digital image represented by a plurality of pixels in a first color space. A first set of color values are extracted from the determined composite color numbers. The first set of color image values are then compacted into a second set of color values according to a predetermined encoding algorithm. A quantity of color values in the second set of color values is smaller than a quantity of color values in the first set of color values. A modified image based on the second set of color values is then generated. A transformation algorithm is then applied to the modified image.</p> |
