摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect focusing with a focus detection unit in an imaging apparatus even when light flux is guided to an imaging element, and to avoid adverse influence of external incident light from a viewfinder optical system. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus has the imaging element 106 which photoelectrically converts an object image formed with light flux from a photographic lens 102, and a 1 st mirror 111 which switches between a 1st state in which the light flux from the photographic lens is reflected to the viewfinder optical system and a 2nd state in which part of the light flux is reflected to the focus detection unit for detecting a focus adjustment state of the photographic lens by a phase difference detection system. The 1st mirror has a transmission area transmitting part of the light flux from the photographic lens at least partially. In the 2nd state, the light flux transmitted through the transmission area is guided to the imaging element. A light shield member 163 opens a viewfinder optical path between the mirror and an ocular part of a finder optical system in the 1st state and closes the viewfinder optical path in the 2nd state.
