It is intended to obtain a flowering plant having a novel variegated flower color such as a bicolor or to provide means for detecting a transposon involved therein. The present invention provides a process to produce a plant by use of a mutation (mutant gene) of a gene encoding a novel acyltransferase protein and a process to detect the mutation.
