An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form an alignment layer and a polarizing layer simultaneously, thereby reducing the number of processes. In an array substrate(20), pixels are defined and arrayed on the substrate with a matrix type. An array layer(24) is arranged at the array substrate. TFT(Thin Film Transistor)s are arranged at each pixel. A polarizing alignment film(26) is arranged on the array layer and has a polarization function and an alignment function. In the polarizing alignment layer, a main chain or a side chain is connected with black dyes. The polarizing alignment layer is has a polarizing shaft toward a direction by the UV(Ultraviolet) curing and arrayed toward a direction simultaneously. The polarization alignment layer is also arranged at a color filter layer formed on a color filter substrate. |
