A backlight unit and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having the same are provided to mix light directly supplied from an LED and indirectly and supply the mixed light to an incident surface of a light guide plate uniformly, thereby achieving uniform luminance. A light guide plate(420) is disposed in the rear of an LC panel(100). A light source unit(430) is disposed in an incident surface(420a) of the light guide plate. A diffusion member(440) is disposed between the incident surface and the light source unit, and diffuses incident light. Light supplied from an LED(Light Emitting Diode)(431) moves in a direction of the incident surface of the light guide plate by a curve pattern of the diffusion member. |
