An air conditioner is provided to clean or exchange filters easily without separating a front panel from the air conditioner by opening or closing air inlets by moving the front panel and opening a front part of the filter by rotating the front panel vertically or laterally. An air conditioner includes a main body formed with air inlets and outlets, filters disposed to the air inlets, a front panel(23) for opening or closing the air inlets, a panel driving unit(32) connected to the front panel for rotating the front panel and mounted to the main body for moving back and forth, and a panel moving unit for moving the panel driving unit so as for the front panel to move back and forth for opening or closing the air inlets.
