OPTOELECTRONIC COMPONENT WHICH EMITS ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF AN OPTOELECTRONIC COMPONENT

An optoelectronic component having a housing and a light-emitting diode chip (1) which is arranged in the housing and emits useful radiation is specified. The housing is composed of a housing material (5) which is permeable for the useful radiation and deliberately has radiation-absorbing particles (6) added to it in order to set a predetermined beam intensity or luminous intensity of the emitted useful radiation. The radiation-absorbing particles (6) deliberately reduce the beam intensity or the luminous intensity by a defined value in order in this way to set a predetermined beam intensity or luminous intensity for the component. A method for production of an optoelectronic component such as this is also specified.
