A terminal device is provided to suppress insertion force to be small when a core line is inserted, achieve high contact pressure for holding the core line between a front edge of a locking piece and a terminal piece, and prevent non uniformity of a connection state of the core line. A terminal device comprises a terminal piece(14b), a locking spring(15) and a compressive contact unit(17b). The terminal piece is contacted with a core line of an electric wire induced into a box body(3). The locking spring comprises a center piece(15a) and a locking piece(15b). The center piece is disposed along an insertion direction of the core line as facing the terminal piece. The locking piece holds the core line between the locking piece and the terminal piece by elastically contacting its front edge with the core line. The compressive contact unit is formed in one of the box body and a release button(17). By compressing the locking piece in a state when the core line is not inserted, the compressive contact unit bends the locking piece so as to form a gap between the front edge of the locking piece and the terminal piece.
