The cable has a metallic core (1) surrounded by an insulating sheath (2) located on both sides of a portion (10) of the core, where the metallic core comprises stranded copper strands. A sealed cover (7) is applied on the portion for covering the portion and the sheath. The cover prohibits the circulation of humidity along the metallic core. A fabric sleeve (8) is placed around the cover for covering the cover. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for insulating an electrical cable (2) a method for fabricating the electrical cable.
