<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head capable of increasing carry on an average, even if used by an amateur golfer whose hitting points are apt to vary. <P>SOLUTION: This golf club head 1 has a face part 2 made of titanium or titanium-alloy, a crown part 3, a sole part 4, a side part 5, and a hosel part 6. This golf club head 1 is formed by integrating a head body 10 with a face plate 30 by welding such as laser welding and plasma welding. A thick region 20 is integrally formed with the face plate 30 only at a central part in a toe-heel direction out of a crossing corner part between the face part 2 and the sole part 4.
