A display device of a digital broadcasting receiver and a method thereof are provided to play broadcasting data received from a changed service channel or a set service channel, thereby reducing a channel change time or broadcasting screen display time. A screen display method of a digital broadcasting receiver comprises the following steps of: setting information about a changed broadcasting channel if a broadcasting channel is changed(411,413); analyzing video data received through the changed broadcasting channel, displaying video data as a still screen if specific frame video data is received, and buffering received broadcasting data(415,417); checking whether time stamp information of the buffered broadcasting data is received; and If so, it is displayed video and audio synchronized by controlling a time offset of the audio/video(419).
