PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of reducing columnar resonance and uneven wear. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire has at least one peripheral groove 1 passing through a region from the treading end to the kink-out end of a tread on the grounding face of the tire and extended along the orientation of the rotation of the tire, and a plurality of rows of ribs 2 partitioned by the peripheral groove 1. Each of the ribs 2 has resonance parts 3 which comprise recessed parts 3a forming close spaces by contacting with the road surface within the grounding face of the tire and narrow passages 3b continuing to the recessed parts 3a and opened on the groove wall of the same recessed parts 3a and reduce the grounding noise of the tire by resonating the noise at a frequency approximately equal to that of the noise. In recessed parts 3a' of the resonance parts 3 arranged on the ribs 2a on shoulders, the total volume within the grounding face is set smaller than the total volume of recessed parts 3a of the resonance parts 3 on the ribs 2b, 2c in regions other than the shoulders.
