CAMERA MODULE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera module which can be easily reduced in size and thickness and has a high productivity and an excellent connection reliability, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The camera module comprises a lens tube unit 10 including a lens 101 for optically forming an image; a solid-state imaging element 15 which is formed with a light receiving portion 151 for receiving the optically formed image on the principal plane and also comprises concave electrodes 152 formed in a concave portion in the side face and connected to a surface electrode formed on one face thereof; and a housing 13 having a through-hole which is formed with convex electrodes 162 on the convex portion corresponding to the concave portion. The solid-state imaging element 15 is embedded in the through-hole of the housing 13, and thereby the concave electrodes 152 and the convex electrodes 162 are connected to each other.
