PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for production by which a hydroxyvinylnaphthalene compound can be obtained in high yield. SOLUTION: The method for producing the hydroxyvinylnaphthalene compound represented by formula (1) comprises a step (A) of carrying out a deprotecting reaction of a vinylnaphthalene compound in the presence of an acid catalyst in a hydrous alcohol solvent and affording a reaction liquid containing the hydroxyvinylnaphthalene compound represented by formula (1) and a step (B) of adding water to the reaction liquid obtained in the step (A) and depositing crystals of the hydroxyvinylnaphthalene compound represented by formula (1) from the reaction liquid.
