PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system, which applies a MIMO (Multi Input Multi Output) scheme, by which a communication disabled state due to the deterioration of channel estimation precision is reduced and throughput of user data is suppressed from being degraded, and to provide a method therefor. SOLUTION: If there are a number of wireless mobile stations (or transmission antennas) of each of which a propagation environment is adverse and the value of a signal to interference power ratio is small, or which are transmitting data to a wireless base station at the same time, the number of pilot symbols to be contained in a transmission signal to be transmitted from each wireless mobile station to the wireless base station is increased. Furthermore, if there are a small number of wireless mobile stations (or transmission antennas) of each of which the propagation environment is excellent and the value of the signal to interference power ratio is great, or which are transmitting data to the wireless base station at the same time, the number of pilot symbols to be contained in the transmission signal to be transmitted from each wireless mobile station to the wireless base station is decreased.
