PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC card which can change the master key, used in generating a session key or the like, at each session.

SOLUTION: The IC card 11 is provided with a descendant key generation means 111 which stores the master key 110, shared with a terminal 12 in a non-volatile memory and generates a descendant key, used for the session from the master key 110. The master key 110 has redundant properties with respect to the descendant key by making a key length of the master key 110 larger than the key length of the descendant key; the descendant key generation means 111 generates the descendant key to be different in by session, by using a part of the master key 110 based on the descendant information; and the IC card 11 attains the session with the terminal 12 by using the descendant key generated by the descendant key generation means 111.
