<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating calcined dust containing unburnt carbon powder (unburnt C), a byproduct when producing unslaked lime or calcined dolomite by calcination of lime stone or dolomite, and recovering CaO or CaO+MgO by separating and removing unburnt C, to recycle the calcined dust. <P>SOLUTION: Calcined dust containing unburnt C is added to water added with a foaming agent, carbon powder is floated up by flotation by blowing in air for floating, and settled calcium hydroxide or calcium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide are recovered. By blowing in carbon dioxide gas or air containing carbon dioxide gas in place of air, calcium carbonate or calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate can be recovered. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
