PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amplifier which can extremely easily be connected to an external device by a user without referring to an operating manual. SOLUTION: The amplifier acquires first terminal information from the external device and compares it with second terminal information stored beforehand to automatically judge a connectable combination of a terminal of the external device and a terminal of the amplifier. The amplifier then displays a connection explanation picture containing a background image of the external device, a background image of the amplifier and a line connecting terminals, selected by the judgement means, recommended to be connected. Since the user can connect the amplifier and the external device while referring to the connection explanation picture, the amplifier and the external device can be extremely easily connected.
