PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved type magnetometer for a torque transducer. SOLUTION: The magnetometer 22 includes inner and outer coils 34, 38, 36, 40 wound around a bobbin. The bobbin includes an axial-directional upper and lower portions 21, 23 partitioned by the center flange 28. The center flange includes a plurality of cut-in parts 32 with an equal interval along a circumferential direction around an axis 18 as the center, and a magnetic piece 42 is penetrated through each cut-in part along an axial direction to be extended over the full length of the magnetometer. The magnetic piece is interposed between the inner and outer coils, and is brought into a saturated state under the presence of a magnetic field. A torque applied onto a torque transducer element 12 generates a divergent magnetic field, and the magnetic field is detected and measured to find the applied torque. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
