The system has a cover section for covering the sole region in an-in use position, an attachment device for preferably reversible attachment of the cover section to the hospital bed, preferably to its foot part, whereby the cover section can be changed from an out of use position into an in-use position in which it covers at least the sole part of the foot. An independent claim is also included for a method of covering at least one foot of a person lying on a hospital bed.
