Method for limiting contamination of the interior of components during welding comprises forming a section (38) which curves back on itself on one of the flanges (24) on the components which are welded together. Welding particles then collect in the cavity (28) so formed. Independent claims are included for: (A) torque converters fitted with a contamination limiting system as described; and (B) articles fitted with the system.
