PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lamp socket with which a PLC MODEM and a camera can be easily installed, an illumination appliance that utilizes the lamp socket, a camera apparatus and a monitoring camera system. SOLUTION: One line of an electrical lamp cord 5 is coupled by a PLC coupling section 11. The PLC coupling section 11 superimposes information on one line of the electrical lamp cord 5 as a high frequency component while extracts information from one line of the electrical lamp cord 5 as a high frequency component. When the PLC coupling section 11 superimposes information on one line of the electrical lamp cord 5 as a high frequency component, a high frequency is superimposed on an AC of a commercial frequency for the electrical lamp cord 5 with a main body plug section 6.
