PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heavy duty pneumatic tire which has a markedly improved rolling resistance at no expense of tear resistance. SOLUTION: The heavy duty pneumatic tire is obtained by using for the tread rubber a rubber composition which is composed of 40-60 pts.mass of carbon black and/or a filler comprising silica compounded relative to 100 pts.mass of a rubber component comprising a natural rubber and another diene-based rubber and contains nitrogen in an amount of over 0.1 mass% and below 0.4 mass% in aggregate. The rubber component is composed of≥30 mass% of a natural rubber. The natural rubber is obtained from a latex in which protein present in the natural rubber latex is partially deproteinized by a mechanical separation method. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
