<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for decomposing a fluorine-containing compound gas, which is utilizable by a simple method, and has a high decomposing capability of the fluorine-containing compound gas, and to provide a treatment method of the fluorine-containing compound gas or a waste gas containing the fluorine-containing compound gas. <P>SOLUTION: The carrier supporting sulfur-containing zirconium oxide catalyst for decomposing the fluorine-containing compound gas is obtained by distilling away an alcohol from a mixture of a zirconium sulfate (II), the alcohol, and a carrier, and calcining it. The treatment method of the fluorine-containing compound gas or the waste gas containing the fluorine-containing compound gas is provided. The method comprises the process of decomposing and/or oxidation-treating the fluorine-containing compound gas by heating the fluorine-containing compound gas or the waste gas containing the fluorine-containing compound gas, a free oxygen-containing gas, and water in the presence of the carrier supporting sulfur-containing zirconium oxide catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
