PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio output device such as headphones which can be put on while the right and left side headphones are replaced with each other, and is characterized in that when the audio output device is put on, speakers are close to head-side parts on front sides and far away from the head-side parts on rear sides. SOLUTION: When the audio output device is put on with right and left fixation parts 1 replaced with each other as shown by (a), the speakers 3 are far away from the head-side parts on the front sides and close to the head-side parts on the rear side so that sound quality becomes inferior. For prevention this, in an embodiment of the present invention, the speakers 3 rotate on axes 4 of rotation in the vertical direction when the headphones are put on about the fixation parts 1. Consequently, directions of the speakers 3 when the headphones are put on can be changed and even if the headphones are put on in either of the right and left directions, the speakers 3 can be put close to the head-side parts on the front side and far away from the head-side parts on the rear side by changing the directions of the speakers 3.
