PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved technique for light monitoring, such as improved light pulse monitoring. SOLUTION: A device includes a transmission structure and a monitoring circuit, and the transmission structure provides a light source that outputs a series of light pulses and a sensor that includes a light-sensing part, and provides each output light, including an energy-dependent position on the light sensing part, by receiving one or more light pulses from the light source and reacting with each pulse received. The light-sensing part senses each output light of at least one light pulse during each continuous period, consisting of one or more sensing periods for the light pulses, and provides each sensing results, including the information about the photon energy of the light pulse, and the monitoring circuit is connected so as to receive each of the sensing results of each light pulse by which each output light is sensed.
