APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ACTIVE PROFILE EXCHANGE IN BLUETOOTH COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

An apparatus and a method for exchanging an active profile in a Bluetooth communication system are provided to provide a service between Bluetooth devices even if there is no available profile therebetween. When a client(510) transmits a service support list request message to a server(520)(a), the server includes a profile list in a service support list response message and transmits the same(b). If the client erroneously determines that it does not need exchanging of an active profile although it needs(c), the operation is performed according to an existing profile(d) and an error occurs(e). Then, the client determines exchanging of an active profile(f). The client requests a connection using an active profile from the server(g) and receives an acknowledgement response(h). The active profile is exchanged(i), and when exchanging is completed, a confirmation process is performed(j). The client and the server performs their operation according to the active profile(k).
