PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil application member capable of applying oil at a level corresponding to the properties of a face to be coated with the oil. SOLUTION: The oil application member 1 has a continuous oil application face of a predetermined width and transfers oil from the oil application face to an object to be coated with the oil, the object being in contact with the oil application face. The oil is transferred from the oil application face to the object via a solidified oil in which oil gelling agent is three-dimensionally cross-liked in the oil. There is a difference in the amount of oil transferred from the oil application face to the object between at least two portions A and B in the widthwise direction of the oil application face.
