A communication terminal and a power-down registration method of a communication terminal are provided to prevent the occurrence of a state that only power of a terminal is turned off and a power-up is registered in a base station by conducting a pushing operation of a button of the terminal when the button is slidably moved, to reduce a load of the base station and stabilize a communication network. A case forms an external appearance. A button unit(20) turns off power of a communication terminal while a button(26) moves along the case, and transfers a call release signal to a communication system while the button moves to an inner side of the case. The button unit includes a body, a sliding hole(24) formed to have a rectangular shape at one end of the body, and the button horizontally and vertically movable along the sliding hole. A recess is provided at one side of the case and the button unit is installed at the recess. A protruded degree of a front end of the button is smaller than the depth of the recess.
