摘要 Method for adjusting a first (12) and a second array (14) relatively to each other in a printing device having a carrying structure (10) for mounting the first and second arrays. The first array has nozzles (18) arranged in a first row substantially parallel to a first direction (X) for forming first marks (22) on a recording substrate, and the second array has nozzles (20) arranged in a second row substantially parallel to the first direction for forming second marks (24) on the recording substrate. In an attainable relative position, the first and second arrays at least partially flank each other. The method comprises forming a test pattern (S4) having first and second test marks and detecting (S6) the locations of the first and second test marks; determining (S10) a plurality of deviation factors (F 1 ,F 3 ) for a plurality of attainable relative positions (P1,P3) based on said detected locations, wherein each one of said deviation factors is an attribute of a distinct attainable relative position and is indicative of an amount by which distances between neighbouring first and second marks deviate from a nominal distance; and selecting an attainable relative position among the plurality of attainable relative positions which satisfies a selection criterion applied to the plurality of deviation factors.
