Cutter blade for agricultural harvesters

The cutter (1) includes two lengthy blade carriers (2) lying against each other. Thin blade inserts (4) are held between them. The carriers are softer than the inserts, which are wear-resistant and made of e.g. tungsten carbide. The insert is alternatively formed by a layer on at least one of the carriers, or is a flat or strip-like component between them. The blade is bonded permanently in place. The carriers are detachable from each other, or are permanently-connected.
