<p>A method and an apparatus for homogenizing a glass melt are provided to apply small stress to members of the apparatus, to control the apparatus precisely and easily, and to ensure reduced wear and low foam shear rate. A method for homogenizing a glass melt in a container(2) includes the steps of: feeding the glass melt to an inside agitation zone along an agitator shaft(10), applying an axially directional transfer action to the inside agitation zone(12) between the agitator shaft and agitation blades(11) using respective agitation devices; and sealing a gap(16) for the direct passage of the melt with the movement of the melt generated by the axially directional transfer action. At least one agitation device comprising the agitator shaft and many agitator blades is disposed within the container. The gap is formed between the inside wall of the container and the agitator blades.</p> |
