APPARATUS FOR REDUCTION OF NEGATIVE MOMENT IN A BRIDGE

An apparatus for reduction of negative moment in a bridge is provided to support the bridge with a least number of piers by connecting a main tower with negative moment parts between the piers via tension members. An apparatus for reduction of negative moment in a bridge comprises piers(1), girders, a slab(7), main towers(10), and tension members(20). The girders are mounted on the piers. The slab, a floor of the bridge, is built on the girder. The main tower, which is constructed on the slab, protrudes out of the slab, without interfering with the girder. The tension members, which are built at two sides of the main tower, connect the top of the main tower with negative moment areas between the girders to prevent the bridge from lowering.
