SUSPENSION APPARATUS FOR CATERPILLAR OF A HEAVY EQUIPMENT

A suspension apparatus for a caterpillar of heavy equipment is provided to prevent an accident from occurring by preventing separation of a track through automatic adjustment of tension according to the state of the ground. A suspension apparatus for a caterpillar of heavy equipment comprises a sprocket(11) mounted at the lower portion of a body(10). Front and rear idlers(12,13) cooperate with the sprocket. A plurality of road wheels(14) are formed between the front and rear idlers and disposed on the same line through a carriage(15). A track(20) is driven by the sprocket and is formed along the outer peripheral portions of the front and rear idlers and the road wheels. A first link bar(16) is connected with the carriage. A second link bar(17) is connected with the first link bar and the sprocket. An additional idler(18) is elastically supported by the first link bar and the second link bar.
