A moisture removal apparatus and method are provided to remove moisture using a filter having a relatively small receiving package and a simple mounting structure as time passes. A moisture removal apparatus comprises a housing(80) that supports a main air filter and is connected with a gas turbine. A hood(100) is attached to the housing and has a surface arranged at an acute angle relative to a horizontal position. A prefilter is supported on the hood and extends downward. The prefilter is provided with a device for separating moisture from air flowing through the prefilter. The separated moisture becomes drops that are not delivered by flow of inlet air. The drops fall on the hood. The prefilter is prepared in the form of a pocket filter substantially extending in the vertical direction.
