The invention relates to a link chain (1) formed from individual link chains (2) suspended inside each other. According to the invention, the chain links (2, 3) are forged chain links (2), at least every second chain link (3) being forged first as an open chain link (3) with an opening (6) for suspending the chain link(s) (2) associated therewith, then closed following the suspension of the associated chain link(s) (2), and the edges (11,11) defining the opening (6) being permanently interconnected. The invention also relates to a method for producing a link chain formed from individual link chains (2) suspended inside each other. According to said method, the chain links (2, 3) are produced according to a forging process, at least every second chain link (3) being forged first as an open chain link (3) with an opening (6) for suspending the chain link(s) (2) associated therewith, then closed following the suspension of the associated chain link(s) (2), and the edges (11, 11) previously defining the opening (6) of the open forged chain link (3) being permanently interconnected. |
