A controller using an RTC(Real Time Clock) and a system including the same are provided to support a power saving mode by generating a low frequency signal from the RTC without using a PLL(Phase Locked Loop) and providing the low frequency signal to a part of modules, which are operated by the low frequency signal, of the controller. A PLL(200) generates and outputs a first clock signal from a reference signal, and a first module unit(120) includes at least one module operated by the first clock signal output from the PLL. An RTC(140) generates and outputs a second clock signal. A second module unit(160) includes at least one module operated by the second clock signal output from the RTC. A frequency of the second clock signal is lower than the first clock signal. The second module unit includes at least one of a system timer(262) and a UART(Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter)(264). The RTC receives or generates needed power autonomously regardless of the power supplied from the controller.
