A device and a method for providing a personal tag are provided to enable a user to manage files of figure photo easily by assigning the personal tag to the figure photo files generated and shared by the user. An input unit(120) receives a command for assigning a personal tag to a figure photo file received from a digital data obtainer(110). A display unit(130) displays a list of the figure photo files. A figure photo file list provider stores a plurality of figure photo files, and provides a figure photo file list grouped based on at least one of photographing time and place. A tag information assigner assigns tag information collectively to at least one figure photo file among the figure photo file list. The figure photo files are arranged by each group in order of the number of figure photo files, and at least one of the figure photo files is used as a reference figure photo file or is used for generating a reference face image of a person. |
