An apparatus of monitoring a steel plate in the bottom of a blast furnace is provided to effectively prevent the steel plate from being cracked by monitoring the steel plate using automatic equipment in real time. An apparatus of monitoring a steel plate in the bottom of a blast furnace comprises a photographing unit(10) for photographing the steel plate, a gas detector(12), a data converter(14), a warning generator(16) and a vehicle on which the photographing unit, the gas detector, the data converter, the warning generator are mounted. The gas detector detects the amount of gas leaking around the steel plate. The data converter converts an output signal of the gas detector into a data signal and then compares the data signal with a preset signal to determine risk.
