MANUFACTURING METHOD OF STYRENIC RESIN AND ITS PRODUCT

A method for preparing a styrene-based resin, and a styrene-based resin prepared by the method are provided to improve heat resistance and water absorption resistance without the deterioration of moldability and strength. A method for preparing a styrene-based resin comprises the steps of injecting a reaction solution which comprises 100 parts by weight of a monomer mixture comprising 50-99.5 wt% of styrene, 0-30 wt% of a styrene-based derivative and 0.5-20 wt% of a vinyl compound copolymerizable with styrene and 0-20 parts by weight of an organic solvent into a reactor to polymerize it at 110-139 deg.C; injecting 50-1,000 ppm of a multifunctional reaction controller selected from 5-butylperoxy-2-ethylhexyl carbonate and 2,2-di(4,4-di(t-butylperoxy)cyclohexyl)propane at a temperature high than the temperature of the reactor by 1-10 deg.C so as to allow 50-70 % of the monomer of the reactor to be converted into a polymer in the case of mass polymerization; and volatilizing the unreacted monomer and a solvent from the reaction solution to separate a polymer.
