<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of restraining drying of the vicinity or the like of a reaction gas flow channel inlet of a cathode, without separately fitting a mechanism outside a single cell for retention or transfer of moisture. <P>SOLUTION: For the fuel cell provided with a first separator equipped with an inflow port and an outflow port of oxygen-containing gas as well as a second separator equipped with an inflow port and an outflow port of hydrogen-containing gas, and a membrane electrode assembly pinched between the first and the second separators, a moisture diffusion evaporation means is arranged at the surface of an outer edge part of the electrolyte membrane facing the inflow port of the oxygen-containing gas, and at the same time, a moisture absorption diffusion means is arranged at the surface of an outer edge part of the electrolyte membrane facing the hydrogen-containing gas, at a positional relation of front to back against the surface of the electrolyte membrane where the moisture diffusion evaporation means is arranged. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
