PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulose acylate film capable of controlling values of in-plane retardation (Re) and retardation (Rth) in the thickness direction within a wide range with a simple process and to provide an optical compensation sheet, a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display device using the film.

SOLUTION: A cellulose acylate composition comprises a polymer having a repeating unit represented by general formula (1) (wherein, X and Y contain each a monocyclic or a condensed polycyclic aliphatic group or aromatic group) and a cellulose acylate.
