A method 20 is disclosed for collating a set of valid player positions in a cricket game. The method starts in step 21 by determining a plurality of candidate player positions from a detection and tracking system. These candidate positions may then, in step 22, be overlaid on a video image of the playing field used to determine the candidate player positions, and displayed on a computer system (3,Fig.1). In step 26, a plurality of validity indicators are received, each validity indicator being associated with a single candidate object position. The validity indicators may be received through an operator (4,Fig.1) moving a pointer of a computer mouse over each candidate position illustrated, and validating positions through depressing the buttons of the mouse, whereby a left click may be designated a positive validity indicator, and a right click may be designated a negative validity indicator. Following step 26, each candidate player position has associated therewith a validity indicator. In a final step 29, a final set of valid player positions is collated based on the positive and negative validity indicators entered by the operator in step 26. |
