<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor white light emitting device which is capable of suppressing white light from being biased to a specific color, and improving the quantity of light. <P>SOLUTION: A semiconductor white light emitting device 1 comprises a semiconductor light emitting element 2, a package 3, a supporting member 4 and an external terminal 5. The semiconductor light emitting element 2 comprises a green light emitting layer 15 capable of emitting green light and a blue light emitting layer 16 capable of emitting blue light. The blue light emitting layer 16 is formed at the side of light radiation rather than the green light emitting layer 15.
